Christmas #3 | Pine cones string

Since my tree was a little bit too naked, I decided to add something which reminds me of winter and white Christmas.
As I told you in my previous post, I wanted some pine cones on my tree sooo bad, so last Monday I went to Oh Bej Oh Bej fair, which is a popular and classic Christmas fair here in Milan, and I found some pine cones very cheap and good for my idea.
So I bought them and I bought some wire at Tiger's, and that's it.

This string is something you can put not only on your tree but also as a decoration in your home. You can put it on a piece of furniture, or outside your door, or on the balcony... I mean, you can really use it everywhere because it's simply so festive and pretty and easy to do.

Simply you have to wrap every pine cones with one or two rounds of wire, and leave some spaces between a pine cone and the other. Consider that the first lenght of the wire won't be the same in the end because you will use some centimetres to wrap the pine cones. For example I took a 4 metres wire but in the end the string was long about 3,50m.

Eventually I added some fake snow on the bottom of the pine cones and this is the result on my tree.
If you're not going to put the string on the tree but you want to show it entirely, I suggest you to wrap the wire with some colored ribbon, so that it would be way more festive and cute.

Christmas #1 | Candle holders

December is finally here, and that means just one thing... CHRISTMAS!
I love Christmas time, I love lights and cold days and the crowd in the shops, I love Christmas songs and everything about decoring yor own home, I love Christmas jumpers and Christmas food. I honestly wait for this very moment every-single-day.
So, I decided to dedicate all my december posts about it. I will talk about my favourite Christmas recipes, my home decor (since this is one of the thing I am most into in this period), my suggestions for gifts and so on.

For my first post I decided to share with you some candle holders I found on pinterest that you can easily create on your own.
As you know, I am a big fan of candles, I do have an obsession with them, and of course I love candle holders too. On the other hand, I'm not very good at DIY, I've always wanted to learn and train but I'm seriously too awkward for that.
Now that I live alone and I have an entire home to decor, I wanted to try something easy, and these candle holders seemed easy and fun to do.
I searched "christmas DIY" on pinterest and I found some really interesting ideas.
If you want to create your candle holder, you only will need glue and some jars. Then you can easily find tapes or little pieces of decor (for instance pine cones or pieces of holly and so on) on the internet or in stores like Tiger. After that, it's up to you and your creativity.

As you can see, they're extremely easy and cheap to do. You can also create them as a gift for friends or parents.

I suggest you to paint your landscape with a permanent marker. I did this with a black thin cardboard, and when I added glue, some parts became white... So I had to paint it again with a black permanent marker!

Moving to Milan #3 | 5 things you can't miss for your home decor

This is the last post about my relocation in Milan, and I want to talk about home decoration.
You house should be your home, and there's nothing better than personal home decor in order to feel home in your new apartment.
My boyfriend and I tried to put some customization in our apartment, and I found out that there are 5 items that cannot miss in your house.


1. Plants
Fake or real, big or small, a beautiful and colorful plant is all you need to make your house look more fine. I would like to put some plants in the balcony too, but I have to think about what kind of flowers I can deal with. I have no experience with gardening and I think I will let my plants die... I know, I'm a disaster. But still, plants are a really good choice if you want something really elegant and never boring.

2. Courtains
You can trust me when I say that with and without courtains your house will look totally different. I wanted to decor my home with them, but I waited an entire week for my grandma to bring me ones, and I can easily claim that now that I have courtains, my living room looks a lot better. Since my wall is pink, I wanted a neutral color, so my grandma brought me white courtains and they look great.

3. Books
Even if you don't like to read, nothing is better than books, or comics, in order to fill your empty shelves. They're colorful, they're different sized and of course they are a good hobby. There's also a study which says that a child who growns up in a house full of books will be better at school than a child who lives in a house without books - sorry, this is my psychologist-side talking.

4. Pictures
I don't like empty walls, and I'm suffering because mine are still empty. I just wanted to wait and see what's better for my house. So far I bought a puzzle which shows a picture of Amsterdam (a city that my boyfriend and I love so much), and now that is done I think I will put it over the couch, or in my bedroom.

5. Centerpiece
Maybe someone don't think that this is important, but I totally do. There's a big difference in a table with ceterpiece and a table without it. I decided to buy a big plate in IKEA, some fake leaves and flower with green apple scent, and a candle, which I put in the center of this centerpiece. I think the result is good and my home smells like apple when I enter.

These are my must-have home decor stuff.

Shopping online | ASOS 2015

Sales online will kill me, or I better say they'll kill my savings!
That's what happened some days ago, when I read that ASOS had these crazy sales. It was during a boring lesson, so I opened the site and in less than 10 minutes I spent 30€, or something like that.
I don't care, because the two items I bought are simply amazing.

Here they are!

New Look Halter Neck Peplum Top
A really elegant but also simple top, you can use it when you go for a night out or when you go shopping in the afternoon. I've already used it, I like the peplum because it completely covers your belly, especially if you don't have a perfect body, just like me!

London Rebel Bow Flip Flops
I love sooo much bows - I'm also think about getting a bow tattoo. I fell in love with these flip flops as I saw them and I literally ran to reserve my size.
I can't wait to wear them, I needed a new pair of flip flops to go to the beach!

And that's how they look like! I know the photo quality is not great, but I couldn't take a better one!

A sunny morning in Abbiategrasso, Milan

Sunday morning, 7.00 am.
While everyone was sleeping, I woke up because the weather was too hot, and I couldn't sleep anymore. I hate when it happens. I am that girl who wears crop top at Christmas, so I definitely can't bear too hot weather.
Despite this, there's something good. I'm also that kind of girl who loves to sleep and I rarely wake up before 10 am, so I decided to leave and go outside, to have breakfast and walk a little.
My boyfriend was sleeping until he heard my steps in his bedroom, so he decided to join me.

I remember when I was in high school, I always thought about how much I would have loved to walk in the morning. I promised myself that I would have done it once the school was over, but I never did.
We had this amazing walk, a delicious croissant and a cappuccino, and then we walked through the center and took some photos.

Planning a short trip

I'm going to Amsterdam in 16 days!
I'm so excited, first of all because I don't fly away from Italy since September 2013, and then because it's my first time in Amsterdam. There's a lot to see and to do, I can't wait!
It doesn't matter if I have an exam on the 26th: I'm totally thinking about Holland and tulips (my beloved tulips) and bikes and mills and so on.
Since it will be a short trip, I have to schedule it precisely and know where to go and what to do everyday. My boyfriend and I will stay in Amsterdam only for four days and three nights, in Easter, so we don't want to waste time, we want to visit as much as possible.

Through the years I got used to this kind of trip, I saw London and Madrid in four days and Paris in three days, so I know that if you want to see as much as possible you can't give some extremely necessary things up.
These are my five tips to plan your short trip.

1. Find the places, museums and attractions you want to see absolutely.
It's really important to know exactly what's inevitable for you: it's your trip, you must decide for yourself. These inevitable places will be your starting point.

2. Get a map 
With a map of the city you can see where are the places you want to go, and see if there's something near to something else, you can schedule your days by staying in a precise zone. I think that the more you stay on public transport the more time you waste: try to plan precisely every day so that you don't have to move from a place to a far one. Now you have your "trip skeleton".

3. Buy a guide of the city and look on the Internet.
This is a good way to find new attractions or places, you can fill your plan with new these new thing to do. The guide is also useful because when you will be there you can have some short description of the places and, of course, advice for restaurant, shop and so on.

4. Choose a day for resting a little.
A short trip is really exhausting: you'll walk so much and sleep so little. I like to choose one day, usually in the middle of the trip, to visit a park or a relaxing place and stay there. You can have a pic-nic or simply lay on the grass and watch the nature, it will be a really good experience and it will be useful for your legs!

5. Write your plan in a diary
A diary is perfect for your trip, not only because you can mark your plan, but because when you will be there you will be able to write yor emotions, your thoughts or draw something. Moleskine store sells some city agendas with maps and informations. I was so unlucky because when I decided to buy the Amsterdam one, it was sold out.

Valentine's day ideas

February is here and to me it means only one thing: gifts.
Yes, because on February there are three important events in my life, my boyfriend's birthday, Valentine's day and our anniversary.
This year I had a lot of ideas: something was really expensive and impossible for me, but I decided to share them here. Maybe they will be useful for someone reading.
But remember that the most important thing when you have to buy a gift is to know the person you are going to give it to. So use these ideas below only as a suggestion or customize them if necessary.
So here it goes.

Little chocolates in a cute box
Basically the most traditional gift for Valentine's day, but still the best one: it's cheap, classy and always well-accepted. There are a lot of ways to do them, you only need a mold to make chocolate and a box. You can buy it or decorate one random box using your fantasy.
Use the ingredients your Valentine like the most, for example my boyfriend likes dark chocolate so I'm going to use it to make my heart shaped chocolates.

Touchscreen gloves
I know, winter is almost finished, but this is a pretty idea in my honest opinion. In Italy, February is the coldest month of the year, so gloves are definitely necessary. I began to use gloves a week ago so... What's more useful than a pair of gloves you can use with your smartphone? I bet that you are craving for that. I bought these gloves for my boyfriend on Amazon, and I tried them (I saw them in some stores like H&M but they didn't work, so I wanted to be sure) and they really work with smartphones. Absolutely necessary for this cold winter, and very cheap!


New videogame
This is an evergreen: when you don't know what to give to your boyfriend, you can always enter in a videogame shop and take a random one. I can guarantee a 80% probability of success. You just have to know one thing: what consolle he owns.



Briefcase
This was one of my first ideas, because my boyfriend began to work recently and he often has to bring his laptop around. He actually has a briefcase but I think that he would like to have a new one. If your boyfriend is going to begin to work, he will appreciate it for sure. But you can also give it to him if he already has a job. The briefcase in the photo is Salvatore Ferragamo's, so it's a little bit expensive, but I'm sure that if you search accurately, you can also find a cheaper one.




Gadgets of his favourite football team
Like videogames, this is an evergreen. If your boyfriend is a strong sport supporter, you won't go wrong if you buy some gadgets: outfit, keyring, bracelets, laptop accessory and so on. Trust me, football team can save your life when you absolutely don't know what to buy. You can also customize it, for example look what I found on pinterest...
